How It Works

  1. 01

    Walkthrough & quote

We look at every door, drawer and cabinet box, note the damage and talk through the color and sheen you want. Quotes are free and detailed.

  2. 02

    Preparation

Containment and floor protection go up, hardware comes off, and every surface is cleaned, degreased and sanded so the new finish bonds properly.

  3. 03

    Repair

Nicks, chips, gouges, water damage and worn edges are filled, sanded and blended so they disappear under the finish instead of showing through it.

  4. 04

    Color matching

We match an existing color, a paint chip or a sample you love, then spray in controlled coats for an even, factory quality surface.

  5. 05

    Topcoat & protection

A durable topcoat is applied to stand up to daily kitchen use, cleaning products, steam and hands.

  6. 06

    Reveal & cleanup

Hardware goes back on, the space is cleaned completely, and we walk the finished work with you before we leave.

Refinishing vs. Replacing

If your cabinet boxes and doors are structurally sound, refinishing gives you the look of a new kitchen while keeping the cabinetry you already paid for. Replacement makes sense when the boxes are failing or the layout has to change. We will tell you honestly which one your kitchen needs.

Refinishing with us

  • Keeps solid wood boxes and doors
  • Any custom color, matched to your space
  • Days of work, not weeks
  • No demolition, no dumpster, no new counters
  • A fraction of the cost of new cabinetry

Full replacement

  • Everything usable gets thrown away
  • Counters and backsplash usually come out too
  • Weeks without a working kitchen
  • Long lead times on cabinet orders
  • Only worth it when boxes or layout must change

Common Questions

How long does a kitchen take?
Most full kitchens are a few days on site rather than the weeks a remodel takes. Smaller repairs and touch up visits are often finished in a single day.
Can I stay in my home during the work?
Yes. Our process is designed to be minimally invasive, with containment and daily cleanup so you can keep living in and using your space.
Can you match my existing color?
Yes. Color correction and custom color matching are core parts of what we do, whether you are blending a repair into existing cabinetry or matching a new island to old runs.
Can you fix just one door or a few scratches?
Absolutely. Spot treatment for nicks, chips and scratches is one of our most requested services, and it is often all a kitchen actually needs.
Is refinishing cheaper than new cabinets?
Substantially. Because we keep your existing boxes, doors and counters, refinishing costs a fraction of full replacement while changing the look just as dramatically.
Do you work on more than kitchens?
Yes. We refinish bathroom vanities, built ins, furniture, trim and commercial cabinetry, plus custom projects in our own shop.

Have a project in mind?

We refinish cabinetry throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire and the islands.
